Interested in becoming an Umpire?
North West Little League has an umpire program for
individuals 11 years of age and older.
•
Open to people outside of North West communities.
•
Develop your knowledge of the game.
•
Training reimbursed on successful completion of
2 day training course.
•
Join as a father/son team.
•
Flexible schedule, all equipment supplied.
•
All diamonds located in North West Calgary.
•
Earn between $30-$50/game.

Umpire Rules
Safety:
- all catcher masks must have a dangling throat protector.
- on deck batter rule:
Majors and lower – no on deck batter (this includes the playing field and all areas outside the playing field)
- between innings and prior to game start, the 1st batter is allowed to have a bat in hand.
Maximum runs:
- Minors & National – 5 run max and 10 run max last inning.
- Majors/Junior Tier 1/2 – no maximum runs
- Junior Tier 3 – 5 run max and open last inning
Timelines:
- Minors – no new inning starts after 8:15pm
- National – no new inning starts after 8:30pm
- Juniors Tier 3 – no new inning starts after 8:45pm
